Chilean president Sebastián Piñera apparently received a kindergarden class at his office in La Moneda today. The kids were dressed up as ex-presidents and other people from Chilean history. These two came as Salvador Allende and Augusto Pinochet.
People who know modern Chile better than I do: was this horrifically awkward for President Piñera? Wouldn’t this be like, uh, President McKinley getting asked to pose for a photo with adorable versions of Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis? (I realize that’s a bad metaphor, but you know, horrific bloody power struggle plus forty years.)
